On Saturday my niece Tiffany attended her first school dance. She met her friends at a local restaurant before the event. We shot for a few minutes outside the restaurant while she waited.
I can’t believe how quickly she’s grown up. In fact, Kelly and I realized that Tiffany was the same age that Milo is now when we first started dating. It’s kinda scary when you think about it. She looked super hip though in her new dress and all her sweet little accessories.
Anyway, here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!
After a long wait, we finally made it back to West Virginia to visit our family. Making this trip even better is the addition of my new gear, and a renewed inspiration to just get out and shoot.
It’s been nearly five months since I started freelancing full time, and things have been going well. Really well, actually. I can’t take any of the credit though. I’ve been trying to land jobs myself, but noting seems to stick. However, so many unexpected things just keep falling in my lap. Of couse I’d like more work, especially some news assignments, but I really can’t complain. So, thanks to all of you out there who are keeping me busy, and helping me and the family stay afloat!
Here’s a photo I made on today’s travels from Bowling Green to Morgantown. Enjoy!
Early last year I started a story on the Delta College Police Academy. My goal was to follow someone through the academy from start to finish. I got off to a good start, but I wasn’t able to see the project through because I left Midland before the academy was over. Anyway, when I was going through my hard drive tonight I came across these and thought I should post them. They’re from one of my first visits.
Enjoy!
For the past few days now I’ve been editing and redesigning the Christ Community Church website. I had done some print work for them several months ago, and they we’re so happy with it they asked me to make the website reflect their printed materials. A lot of the content existed — including photos — some of which are mine — before I started the project. I just found a new theme, cleaned up the site and gave it more of a consistent look. This was blast to work on. They’re pumped with the final product, and I am too. Enjoy!
Today Milo had an adenoidectomy. As routine as it is, it was still sad to see him go through such an ordeal. But, he was trooper. Here is a photo from the recovery room following his surgery. I apologize that the edit isn’t great (‘really, you only shot a photo of his hands?’). I’m currently shooting with my D200 and a 50mm, and that’s it. So, there isn’t a ton of variety in my shooting as of late, and image quality isn’t superb, but I’m itching to shoot, so I’m working with what I’ve got. This was my favorite frame of the day.
Enjoy!
We payed a visit to my brother’s farm on Christmas day. Before we left, we chased the chickens around the yard for a bit. Milo loved it. I think he may have had as much fun with those chickens as he did Christmas morning. In the midst of trying to juggle Milo and my camera, I made this frame and thought it was a keeper.
Enjoy!
So, it’s been a while, but I’ve finally gotten my act together and started a new blog.
This was my last page that published at the Midland Daily News (May 1, 2011). With moving to Kentucky and everything that was going on back in early May, I just never got around to posting it.
(*Funny tidbit… I actually remember picking up a copy of the Sunday paper with this page in it while getting gas in our moving truck right before leaving Midland.*)
Anyway, the story was about a webcam at the Chippewa Nature Center that users can log on to and scan the area for animals, check the weather, etc. Photographer Nick King and I worked together to come up with this illustration showing the area that the camera covers. From there it was just putting the rest of the pieces together.
That’s all for now. I should be updating more regularly for a while, so check back.
Enjoy!
